Trashion: Recycled Wearable Art
Tuesday, July 21 | 6:00 PM | Opening Reception
Led by Louisville artist Sarah Jane Castellon and her students, Trashion is a collection of wearable artworks created from materials that would otherwise be discarded, including newspapers, cardboard, fabric scraps, and plastic tablecloths.
The project challenged students to transform everyday materials into original fashion pieces while exploring design, construction, and self-expression. From initial sketches to the runway, students developed each piece through a creative process that celebrates innovation, sustainability, and the power of big ideas built one step at a time.
During the opening reception, attendees can experience these student-created designs in a live runway showcase.
