Featuring researchers from NORC at the University of Chicago
Across the country, K–12 systems are navigating rapid shifts in STEM education. New technologies are expanding opportunities to make learning more engaging, hands-on, and relevant, but districts must also balance limited resources, staffing constraints, and the need to ensure new approaches genuinely support teaching and learning.
This webinar, hosted by Instructure - the makers of Canvas, brings together district leaders, education researchers, and practitioners to explore how schools can use technology intentionally, not as a replacement for great instruction, but as a catalyst for deeper engagement, equity, and impactful learning.
Researchers from NORC will share a practical framework for thinking about implementation, evidence, and decision-making in K–12 environments.
Grounding the Discussion in Practice
To provide concrete instructional context, the panel will reference examples of immersive, curriculum-aligned science learning experiences used within the Canvas LMS. These examples will show how interactive lab activities can be incorporated into existing courses and instructional workflows, and how evidence-informed pilots can be designed and evaluated in real classrooms. A brief visual walkthrough will be included to demonstrate how these types of experiences can fit into a Canvas-based learning environment and how institutions can evaluate their impact in practice.
