The situation
Intelvio used Canvas to deliver its healthcare training programs to adults wanting to upskill or change careers. But while that LMS was great at helping single instructors reach thousands of asynchronous, self-paced learners, Intelvio needed a streamlined learner experience that could also connect their education to employability and translate transferable skills.
Insights
Adult learners of diverse ages, locations, and educational backgrounds enroll in Intelvio’s programs. Leaders like Shauna Vorkink recognized the need for a platform that could support a diverse learning community and allow learners to quickly assess their current skills, track their progress, and take the next steps.
Our goal has always been to connect education to employability. Canvas Career helps learners see the real-world skills they’re gaining and how those translate to the workforce.

Solution
Intelvio migrated to Canvas Career for its learner-first, skills-focused design. The platform connects courses to real-world competencies so students see how their training leads to career opportunities. The built-in skill tracker, personalized pathways, and AI tools for smarter course creation provided Intelvio a more human and effective way to deliver skill-based learning at scale.
After the seamless migration from Canvas to Canvas Career, Intelvio is expanding Canvas Career to larger, multi-course programs and exploring how the AI tools accelerate course creation and enhance skills alignment. In partnership with Intructure, the team sees Canvas Career as the key to scaling and reshaping skill-based learning.
Outcomes
Migrating to Canvas Career allows Intelvio to make learning measurable and connected to real opportunities, while staying with a trusted partner that shares a commitment to learner success. Its intuitive design lets every learner see their progress and take the next step in their career.
