Shelley Howell

Dr. Shelley Howell is currently the Director of Faculty Development for Online Programs at The University of Texas at San Antonio. She works directly with UTSA faculty who are designing or refreshing their online courses to help them create amazing learning experiences for their students. Dr. Howell has more than 30 years of experience working with students and faculty from a variety of academic disciplines and settings, including public universities, for-profit institutions and state-level administration. She has taught college students at all levels from first year to doctorate and in different modalities (including online and hybrid) at four different higher education institutions. 

Dr. Howell is first-generation college student and earned an Associate of Arts from State Fair Community College in Missouri, a Bachelor of Science degree in training and development from Southern Illinois University, a Master of Education in adult education from University of Oklahoma, and a doctorate in higher education administration from Oklahoma State University.
