Don Lourcey

Don is passionate about teaching, learning, and design. He believes learning is a partnership and play, contingent upon relationships, connection, and engagement. Throughout his 32-year career, Don has taught 9-12 English and served as Innovation and Professional Learning director for the North Carolina Virtual Public School, the Online Professional Learning Consultant for the NC Department of Public Instruction, and the Canvas Admin for both NC Department of Public Instruction and Iredell-Statesville Schools in Statesville, NC. In his current role as Instructional Designer, he is dedicated to the Houston Independent School District.

Outside work, he loves spending time with his wife, Michelle, daughter, Elizabeth, and two furry children, Gator and Tebow. He enjoys watching his daughter march as a member of the UF Gator Band, Florida Gator Football, Basketball, and Baseball, all things Marvel, reading, and Fall weather.
