Consistency with Canvas

Yamaha Music School

How do you ensure learners across the globe receive the same consistent, structured approach to music education? Yamaha Music School turned to Canvas.

A shared learning experience across countries

Yamaha Music School reaches more than 150,000 learners in over 40 countries. Each follows the same structured approach to music education, but delivering that consistency globally can be challenging.

That’s why Yamaha is introducing Canvas LMS to 100,000 students across 13 countries, including Malaysia and Japan, over the next two years.

Canvas gives every school a unified learning environment while allowing each location to tailor lessons for local needs. Because the platform is cloud based and supported by mobile apps, there’s nothing to install or maintain. Teachers and students can access lessons and resources from any device and enjoy a familiar experience, wherever they learn.

Educational institutions worldwide use Canvas, which is highly compatible with our global LMS deployment.

Supporting in-person learning with digital tools

Canvas complements Yamaha’s face-to-face lessons by bringing every element of teaching into one place.

Instructors use Canvas to play music in class, share homework and materials, and see how students are engaging. The LMS also gives teachers a direct way to communicate with parents, keeping families informed and involved.

Previously there were never apps and we found that children maybe didn’t practise as much. With Canvas now, I’d say they practise more.

One platform for teachers, learners, and families

Before Canvas, lesson updates and practice notes were often shared across several apps or channels.

Now:

  • Everything lives in one secure platform.
  • Teachers can see who’s viewed or completed work
  • They can send reminders, and reach out early if a student hasn’t been active.
  • Parents can check lesson materials, review recordings, and follow their child’s progress anywhere, anytime.

Technology that supports Yamaha’s teaching methods

By combining its proven curriculum with Canvas, Yamaha is creating a connected learning experience.

Canvas complements, rather than replaces, in-person instruction, helping Yamaha bring the same high-quality experience to learners everywhere.

We believe the integration of technology with Yamaha Music School’s curriculum and teaching methods will enhance value for learners and increase Yamaha fans around the world.

Bringing teaching and learning together in one place.
