City University of Hong Kong uses Canvas LMS to support flexible learning

In this video, educators and learners from City University of Hong Kong share how Canvas supports modern teaching and learning across campus.

We have students from all over Hong Kong. We encourage and we teach and we nurture students to be creative, to discover and make innovation within their academic studies. But what that also means that tools and platforms that we use to support their learning are also the state of the art that allow teachers to teach using modern innovative pedagogies. I would use Canvas in all of my gadgets, laptops, and desktops also because Canvas has a good interface and it's quite user friendly. Canvas is very handy or very helpful. You can easily handle it.

You don't have to attend any tutorials about the campus, how to teach you how to use it. I think the main feature students can use in campus is they can receive emails by tutors and other individual questions and asking for response. Messaging on campus is something more like messaging through a mobile device rather than like a traditional letter or email. I think that's useful because I think for them that's nice that it doesn't always have to be this terribly formal thing because it's just not how they communicate. I live in a suburban area in Hong Kong, so I need to take one hour of public transport to get to CTU.

During that one hour, I could use the campus apps to get access to my assignments, my lecture materials, and through that I could do my work even on the train. Campus, you may take it for granted because campus is very easy to use. You may not be very aware of that kind of thing. It's very precious.
