Join us for an overview of what our Product teams have been up to at Instructure. We’ll cover a range of recent releases and share demos, resources to help you manage change in your institution, and give you visibility into what’s next for the products in the Instructure Ed-cosystem.
Good afternoon, everyone. We might just give it a a further minute just to have some other participants join us. My name is Paul Towers. We'll do proper introductions in a moment, but it's great to have, you online for this, Amir, New and Next, for q three. We're gonna be handing over to Joelle in a moment and to go through some of those bits and pieces. Okay.
Lovely. So, Joelle, are you able to just move on to the next slide for me? So Yeah. Well, first off, just to give a a bit of a mention for our CanvasCon, conference that is happening in Oslo. You can use the QR code there to, show your peers and also, look at the registration. So it's a wonderful event.
We've got some fantastic speakers this year, for kind of running towards the end of this year for the, EMEA customers. And yeah. So please feel free to reach out to your CSMs for further details. As I say, we've got a we've got a great event. I've not been to Oslo before, so I'm very much looking forward to, being at at Oslo and hopefully see you there as well.
Joao, I'll just move on to the next one to give you some time. So as I mentioned, I'm Paul Towers. I'm a customer success manager here in the UK. I mainly look after HE and FE customers, within the, UK sector, institutions. And we've also got the amazing Joao, who's our global growth product marketing manager here as well.
He's gonna take you through the presentation. I will kinda be waiting behind the wings, trying to answer any questions as we go through. So please feel free to to send them there. If we don't get chance to answer them all, at the end or throughout, what we'll do is make sure we take them away and also update you as we go along as well. So, Joao, I'll hand over to you.
Thank you so much, Paul. And, you know, as always, on on the sessions that we do on on webinars such as new and next, we have a lot to talk about because we what we do here is really a high level view of all the great things that we have released in between q three and also things that we're planning for the next, the next semester as well here in Instructure the next quarter. So you're gonna see a little bit about things that we have just released and that we think it's very worth for you to to start using and enabling on on your accounts. Also, some strategy vision of all things that are coming in the future, but most importantly, things that are coming next as well. And then as always, as we do here on the new NX, we we like to talk about our our features and the solutions that we're bringing to Instructure and our products by these themes that you're seeing here.
So the plan here today is really to talk about not only Canvas, the VLE, the LMS itself, and and what we are releasing in in this solution, but what we're doing overall in in the Instructure, educational ecosystem being through AI, innovations for the teaching and learning experience, how we are working to assessments for new quizzes and and portfolios, credentials and catalog, and how are we advancing for the lifelong learning experience for our students, how we are working more and more with partners as always, and how we are working features that can reduce the burden the admin's burden from the teacher perspective, but also from the admins that work here with us at Instructure. So let's kick off with the first theme that I wanted to talk today, which is innovating for the digital learning experience. There's quite a few things that we have released recently, well, way more than what you're seeing here, but we we picked up this, six themes six features, actually, to talk with all of you today because we know that based on a lot of the conversations that we're having in different user groups here in EMEA, this is very strategical to everyone here, honestly. So I wanna start with something that we already spoken about in, our previous new and next session. Also, you know, there's a lot of conversations that happen from the beginning of the year up until now in different, environments, different user groups, events that we were, and conversations directly with your CSM, it's, and and other examples where we talked about this.
So this might not be news to you. However, in our, last deploy, we have brought some really great updates based on feedback of the users who are already using differentiating text. Let me take a step back here and just let you know what differentiating text is. It's a feature that really makes the teacher lives very easy. It's something that, you know, it's been requested by many, many times for feedback from our users here in EMEA, and it's really how Instructure can better support, individualize it, and personalized learners.
So the tags here, with those tags, the teachers, they can create custom student groups. And these groups, they are invisible to students. I think this is very important for you to know. This means that they have no visibility whatsoever on the tags itself, so it's completely teacher facing. It's to help our our our teachers on their administrative to, capabilities inside of the learning process.
And what is really great about the tags is that is that they can be built around specific needs. They can be built around learning styles, around interests or even situations like tutoring or remediation, for example. So I can give you some examples here to show you the power of this. For those text teachers, they can, assign specific tasks. I was mentioning some examples of texts.
Right? And, one of those being, for example, creation of of tasks, quizzes, discussions, creation of modules, really to students that are tech inside of, of an specific text. So this work is across everything in Calus that supports differentiating assignments, or, you can even filter the grade book by text, for example, to track progress with more precision. Now some of the things that have come in, August thirteen Deploy that I want you all to have eyes on, so just a couple of weeks ago, is that we now have enabled CSV import, which is specifically and very useful for creating and, and assigning tags in large classes or across multiple sections. Just upload it, and and you're free to go. We have also made sure that the tag model now displays labels in line.
So there are line breaks and a scroll bar. So this makes it much easier to view and manage tags, especially in courses with many, tags. So, again, for, so that you can use better those tags. And when you check the details of an assignment with with differentiating due dates per group, the four so for someone, for example, four column now shows tags instead of of groups. So this really removes the confusion in between what is a tag, what is a group, and make it really clear which date applies to to who.
Also, in the innovating for the teaching and learning experience, another update that I I want you all to to really have eyes on is around accessibility. So Canvas now includes this, that's does Lexia friendly font, as you can see here in the image. And this really gives learners, a much clearer and more comfortable reading experience for those who have such disability. And and the best part here is really simple. It is just, you know, with just a quick toggle in the user settings.
The students, they can instantly switch it on and and really improve both their comprehension as well as their focus. So, you know, this is seen as a a small change in the setup, but it really makes a big difference in the learning experience. And moving on, because, again, we have we have a lot to talk today. It's not only on the desktop interface that we are doing changes. There is a lot of great stuff that are happening right now on the mobile experience, so I really invite you to enter on our community to see the release notes that we have there for both iOS and Android.
But, you know, one really nice update that I would like everyone here to be aware of is this one that you're seeing here on the slides, that is more from a student perspective, but is that we have launched the to do list widget in the Canvas app experience. So the idea here is that students can right from their phone home screen, they can get a quick glance of what's coming up. They can see upcoming tasks. They can see upcoming assignments. They can really see everything in just one place and really quickly.
And, you know, at the end of the day, we wanna support more and more and make sure that we are making the life of our students, the life of our users easier. Right? So this helps them to focus on what really matters, helps them to avoid the need to always open the full app and and really navigate, through multiple screens. Again, I'm I'm hearing someone that is not on mute, so if you can please mute yourself to support others. Thank you so much. I'm glad I'm glad that we are in a in our community here, and everyone can understand that difficulties with technology might happen sometime, but we will make sure that this doesn't happen on on our next webinar.
And, again, as Paul has mentioned, this is why it's so important that we make registrations for each of the sessions that we will have. Q four is not gonna be different. But let's get back here to the to what we are really talking about, which is features that are coming and features that are coming as well in the mobile experience. The one that you're seeing here is already available both in Android and iOS. It's super easy for students to enable.
They just go there, to their device, which is settings, and and there you go. It's in the Canvas app. And one thing that I think it's important for you all to, to have eyes on and and if you're playing close attention even though I know that we were hearing some other noises, but you might have noticed that I kept saying about Canvas app, not about Canvas app. And this was intentional. The truth is that the name will and you see it will increasingly appear simply as Canvas app.
The reason is a few of, there's a few reasons behind this, but one of them that I can already share with you is really to create more a consistent experience for student that are for our users that are student across the Canvas ecosystem. And you'll understand later on the session today why we're talking about, creating a single experience for the students independently of who they are. But moving on, taking a a side, from the mobile experience and going not on the math experience, but more deploying to a product that is, as you know, it's, our premium data product, intelligent insights. There's a lot of things that we have been working as well, some of which are already available and that were available in this quarter that I would love for you to to take out take your eyes on. And one of that is that, inside of, escrow data, we are now making them available as well for sub account level.
So this came directly from user feedback, and it really means that admins, they no longer have to look at any institutional data. They can now drill down in their subaccount data. They can explore engage, usage. They can explore engagement. They can explore the activity patterns, and the experience is still the same.
It's still very simple. It's, you know, it's the conversational interface that you already know, but now with much more flexibility because you can really focus on on the data that truly matters for your area and for your responsibility as, as a subaccount admin. So if you already have intelligent insights, there's nothing that you actually need to do in order to enable it. It's already enabled by default. And then, again, on intelligent insights, we have a couple of of solutions inside.
Right? We have actually three capabilities. We have two dashboards, and this AI powered chat feature. So this one that I just shared with you is inside of FireScrew Data, our our AI chat feature. However, we do have some news as well into the dashboards, one of those being inside of the students in need of attention dashboard. There's a lot of need, and we heard this quite extensively, from our users that there was a lot of need for not only admins to see the dashboards of students in need of attention, but, actually, the real user of that data, is the teacher.
Right? So because of this, we have made sure that we are now giving access to the teachers as well so that they can keep track of every student on their courses individually or as a group, but it's really crucial that teachers can really catch early signs when someone is falling behind. So this is also something available right now, not only for administrators, but now also available to teachers. They can now set their clear criterias for when a student is considered really in need of attention in their courses, and it's something that it comes enabled by default. So you don't need to do anything manually on your side as a user of intelligent insights in order for your teachers to see it only if you don't wanna enable it, but that's, another case. And finally, inside of, intelligent insights, a final piece of things that are now available, and I know this one is really important for some specific markets that we have here in EMEA, is that app web logs are now, directly inside of SQL data.
So if you don't know too well what web logs are, they are, you know, those detailed records of student activity inside of Canvas. Let's say things like when or how they access content, when or how they participate in activities, interactions across the course. This addition really, is a direct response as well from feedback from our region here in EMEA. It really makes sure that we are making the analysis easier to spot, patterns of usage, patterns of engagement, and also behavior. So, really, the goal here is to give you, as an user of intelligent insights, more and more relevant data so you have richer insights that can provide and support you with better decisions.
Now coming next inside of this first area, there are three main things that you're seeing here. And this is honestly, this comes a lot because of, many of you who are here, many of you who we are having conversations in the last couple of months. The first thing that I want everyone to be aware of, and we talked about this at InstructureCon, our global event, is that since the beginning of the year and with the validation mostly from students around the world, but also based on the feedbacks that we received from all of you on the user groups that we have here in the region, we are redesigning the module experience inside of Canvas, really, to make everything clear and more organized for the learners. So, you know, in the upcoming events, Canvas calling in Oslo as well as webinars that we are are gonna do, I'm gonna talk more and more about this functionality and sharing the progress. But what I can already share is that within each model as you are seeing here in in the image, our students, they will be able to see more detailed information such as when the module is available, if it's pending assignments, and competition criterias.
But on top of that, the students, they will also see a progress bar that visually shows how far they have advanced it and and in the required content itself. So this is something that is highly requested and that we are working on. This is something that we are working on to be released, until the end of the year. There's not a specific date yet, but as I was mentioning, there's gonna be more and more, informations about this coming up next. Concurrent rating.
This is huge for a lot of our markets here in, in EMEA, in the UK, for example. We see more and more that and I know that this is probably gonna spark a lot of curiosity, and I promise that the next time that we met, there's gonna be more informations about this. But it's really common, and we know about this, right, that, it's more it's really common that more than one person, whether by preference or even due to legal requirements, they are involved with integrating, for a one same assignment. And until now, we haven't been developing this. As you all know, it wasn't so easy to track who did what, but we are working to provide greater visibility into the grading activity when there are multiple evaluators.
So this means more transparency in the process, better collaboration among graders, and most importantly, it's the final evaluation that it's, it's gonna be more accurate for the students. And finally, on this topic, still in development as well, it's just a a better way for us to support you with the usage of Rubrics inside of Canvas. So what this what you're seeing in this slide here is that soon, because they will be able to better manage the experience, and, they they will be able to schedule when a feedback is released for students. So, for example, they can choose to send comments first to guide learning and only later make the grade available, which adds not only flexibility to the educators, but really much more control over how and when feedback is used in the evaluation process. So, again, also something that we have, quite extensively heard from user groups here about more flexibility inside of the Rubik experience.
So not only we're building Rubik's, with the capabilities of AI, as you have might seen in the webinar that we hosted last week, but we are also making sure that not necessarily things with AI, but that can create more flexibility are being add inside of the Rubrik experience. Now let's navigate a little bit on what we're doing in the to support and power the assessment cycle. And this translates a lot into the things that we are doing on your quizzes. So there are main three things that I wanna talk today that can embrace a lot of the needs from our market here in EMEA. But, again, if you look at our deploy notes, if you look at the release notes, you're gonna see way, way more functionalities that we have been bringing to new quizzes in the last couple of months, AI capabilities that we are working as well and that we presented last week.
So I'm not gonna cover that today again. But some of the stuff that I I think it's worth for you to see, one of them, that is really focusing in giving more security and more flexibility and more visibility in the assessment process is the procuring updates that we have. Because now instead of new quizzes, if you're a teacher and you're using your quizzes in the courses, you can enable media session detection. So this helps you identify, for example, if a student is assessing the quiz from more than one session at the same time. And beyond that, educators, they can also block file uploads in essay questions.
So, really, this prevents attempts to bypass, for example, the intended structure of the question. But, really, on top of that, admins so not only from the perspective of the teacher, this is very valuable. But admins, with the right permissions, they can have access to the IP addresses within the quiz log. So this is really, really, important step because it gives much more transparency into where and and really how students are assessing their exams. And most importantly, this is this was a big new, need from the market here.
And then still saying in in the world of, new quizzes, I just wanna highlight an improvement that came directly from the needs of our customers here in MES, especially in countries like Spain and in regions like the Benelux and also the Nordics. Many institutions, they weren't able to fully use new quizzes because students, they were struggling to enter answers correctly. And the main issue for for this, is that, you know, different users from regional, experiences, they wouldn't be able to use the number format that, as a rule adding structure, in the past would be dots as decimal separators instead of comma and vice versa. So with this update, the administrators, they can configure decimal separators in the local way, that they want. So and this can be made both at the account, but also the, for sub account level.
And this really, really supports and brings more consistency across all the quizzes. It also helps prevent confusion mostly. And I would say most importantly, it really unblocks the path and makes it more comfortable for institutions to move from classic quizzes to new quizzes. So this is really great. I mean, I I just wanna I just wanna really emphasize.
I think this is a great example of how we work in a localized way with our user groups. This was born because of the need that you brought to us inside of the user groups and together with the EMEA community and and that feedback that we receive it. Really, we listen to you for the specific demands of of the region regions, and we we turn this into a concrete improvement that can benefit not only our region EMEA, but also, we see this necessity in Latin America as well as in Asia Pacific. And then something that many of you, as we know, internally at least, are already using this, just like the decimals separating your quizzes, we we listen closely to our EMEA customers, and we're turning some of the real needs that we have heard into improvement. So, other areas that we have been hearing a lot is about students needing more flexibility and control into how they show their their skills inside of Canvas.
So we have released right now the enhanced portfolio experience that really works in in two ways inside of Canvas, as an evaluation portfolio and also as a showcase portfolio. So for institutions, this means a much faster and simpler setup with clear templates, clear requirements without really having to rely on external tools. For example, if they want, they still can, but you also have this capability. And for students, the experience is also richer because they can tag, they can export, they can share their work with far more flexibility, and most importantly, also, as a core capability within Canvas. So, really, the idea here is to address two key needs that we kept hearing from our EMEA, user groups, institutions that are looking for better ways to evaluate authentic learning and students who want more freedom to tell their academic and and personal story.
So this is, again, something that is already available. If you wanna use it, it's very, very simple to enable. Honestly, you just need to reach out to your CSM, so that they can activate this tool for you. And if you are already using and want to provide any feedback, please do. I'm looking forward to hear how is your experience with portfolios going so far.
But we need to move on here. Again, there's still a lot of things, and I really, really wanna go up into the next slide and show you a video of something very exciting that is coming soon. Right now, I just wanna tell you as well that inside of this product theme that we have, which is powering the assessment cycle, there are three things that are very important for for our region as well that are coming soon. First of all, plagiarism detection for discussions and assignments, making sure that we are gonna align with the Turing capabilities and support you to see, any plagiarism or AI detection directly inside of Canvas, inside of the speed grader. If you, have, we're gonna start with them via the LTI one point three in both assignments and greater discussions.
Secondly, which is in the last slide, actually. Let me just go back here for a second. Sorry. Here you go. We have surveys coming to new quizzes, which I know that it's a big blocker to many of you not to have surveys inside of new quizzes, so we're making sure that we are working on this new release up until the end of the year.
And you have our AI authoring too with, inside of the new quiz experience, something that, again, we have, show last week. And, actually, if you wanna if you weren't able to join us in the webinar that we have done exclusively and directly focused on AI, we can share as well. I'm just gonna ask for my colleagues here to share on the chat, the link so that you can see, the recording that we have done on that amazing conversation that we have with Melissa Lobo, our chief academic officer, explaining not only, you know, the theoretical side and and how we see AI as, a solution for education, but, really, what are we doing, on top of AI. Well, yeah, let's, talk more about not only Canvas. Right? Because our customers here in India, they have the full potential of the the Instructure educational ecosystem on their hands.
And many of you already utilize all their products that we have here such as catalog, credentials, as well as impact as so let me tell you what we are doing overall in those products instead of our, educational ecosystem. One thing that I think it's, really important to announce to all of you and we're announcing more and more, you're gonna see you already can see actually in social medias that we have, is integration between two products of the Instructure ecosystem, Canvas catalog and impact. One of the the main values here of this integration really from a usability perspective is that institutions can send in app messages and track students' engagement analytics directly inside of catalog if you're a user of Impact. Right? So this means that administrators who have both products, they can guide learners in real time from browsing and enrolling all the way through to, for example, the the course competition. This is all without needing any code, and I think this is the value here about this integration.
There's no need for you to code anything. There's no need for you to have any technical support. It saves a huge amount of time for a step. And beyond that, really, institutions can, they can act more proactively inside of catalog. For example, they can send messages just the right moment, and they can respond instantaneously to the student behavior as well.
But I just wanna stress one thing here. This integration is already available. You can enable it very simply and activated the functionality in both catalog and also from the impact perspective is, you know, we have been talking a lot about this in the last maybe two years. It's about the what we are doing here as a a big, big project that we have from a product perspective at Instructure to make sure that our our products, they can talk better together, and they can work more seamlessly together as well for our users. So talk less about products and more about solutions to all of you.
Other things that we are doing in in Canvas catalog that I want you I, I wanted to mention that goes beyond the integration, with Impact is, you know, catalog itself, it's really becoming more flexible. There's a lot of updates in the last one and a half year, that can benefit both administrators, teachers, but also learners. And, honestly, the catalog product team has been doing some incredible work and done everything. They have already delivered. There are a few key improvements that I I like you all to to know about.
They're, they're recent available for catalogs. So, for example, one of the things as you were seeing here in the slide is that it's now possible to duplicate course listings. We are also making sure that it's possible for our users to, create configurations for multiple start dates or rolling enrollments, for example. They can, send automatic reminders to students. And this is no.
It seems basic, honestly, but it's so good for you to have this, opportunity to not go through, manual work to set reminders to students, of those specific moments and those important moments inside of their their course, progress inside of campus catalog. So now you have this automatic reminder that you can set to students who are inside of a a catalog course or individual to students as well. And on top of that, admins will now have a greater control over the storefronts because of the sub catalog experience than we are bringing to to catalog. So, again, it's a lot of things that we are doing. There's one in particular that we're working as well because of the, because of the the large feedback that we have received honestly here in in EMEA, that I would I would say in in the what's coming next, but I already got announced it here, is that we are working to integrate Canvas catalog within Flywire, one of the gateway payments that we have here in EMEA to support better the payment process for our users.
But, really, I think that the most important improvement and that I don't want you to miss about it is that catalog is now full conforming with WCHG two point two, trip away accessibility centers. So this is the most up to date and and global center as you know, and more importantly, it really ensures a much more inclusive product experience while really making easier for all future functionalities to meet the same goal. So there's more things coming, and we can talk more about this. But let me talk as well on what is happening with Canvas credentials. A lot of good stuff as well happening in the next couple of weeks instead of Canvas credentials in this quarter.
You know, the product has also evolved evolved a lot recently to make the experience more accessible, more practical, and and much more personalized it. One important highlight is that also as it is with catalog, we have been updated to meet the WCAG two point two, a h standard on accessibility, so really ensuring greater inclusion for our users being the teachers, administrators, or learners. But beyond that, the product team has added, for example, new skill descriptions. They have introduced a much simpler but way, way more intuitive batch creation process. And another exciting update is the ability to configure it custom achievement types.
So this allows institutions to better align credentials with their specific competency based learning goals. All of the changes here are very mindful of the policies that we have in Europe, in Middle East, and also in Africa when it comes to micro credentialing. And it's really to drive greater efficiency for institutions to make credentials much more meaningful for our students and to create this clear connection in between their achievements and the skills that they are developing. So, you know, as much exciting as this all is, there's much more things coming. And I wanna start with one in particular that we're it's not the first nor the last time that we are gonna talk with all of you about this.
It's a very strategical and important movement that we are doing here at Instructure. For many, this might be the first time. If you have any questions, we're happy to answer to you. But I wanna explain something really important that we are doing with comms credentials as a product, which is going to go through a rebrand. And as we're seeing here in this slide, we're gonna start calling as parchment digital badges.
And this is under a broader strategy that we have and is structured so that we can bring Canvas credentials, which is now gonna be called as Parchment digital badges inside of the Parchment family. If you're not familiar yet with Parchment, it's one of the, it's a company that we acquired last year, but it's most importantly, it's one of the solutions we have inside of the ecosystem, and today is the global leader in digital credential. Parchment works with schools, works with universities, works with companies that and has currently a stronger presence in North America, but it's rapidly expanding worldwide. And part of the strategy as well from our team is to make sure that we can enable millions of students and professionals worldwide to issue, receive, and share that many types of of, many types of of certificates, of diplomas, transcripts, digital badges for the purpose of the the situation here that I'm, I'm calling out. It's truly a a global reference in this space.
And what really makes it so powerful here is that, you know, everything is centralized in one place for the student. I'll give you a personal example here. Because after I graduated and and and moved countries and came to to Budapest, I had really to chase down my diploma. The process took so long, honestly. Very physical.
A lot of bureaucracy. And the value of Parchment here is really it's exactly in eliminating that problem from an institutional perspective, a legal governmental perspective, and also and most importantly, from a student perspective because the digitalization and centralizing all these different types of credentials, it's what really matters here. So bringing Canvas credentials into the Portion family, it's a very strategic move as I was mentioning because it means unifying our solutions. It means offering institutions and students a much more complete integrated view of achievement. It means connecting digital badges to a broader ecosystem of international recognizer credentials.
And it means the most up to date technology as well when it comes to micro credentialing. So I don't want you to be scared with that. I want you to be excited as we are with this change. This is a change that it's right now when it comes to Canvas credentials, it's all about the identity itself. It's not about functionality.
You know, Canvas credentials is now gonna be called as partial additional badges. This is something that is gonna start in October. All legislations, all regulations, all things regarding privacy stay the same. No action is required to enable anything if you're a credentials user. And the only things that our customers now will see are visual adjustments in the interface and everything.
This is the most important thing. Everything is gonna be communicated in advance. So there's also already a lot of informations. Again, if you have any questions, your CSM can support you as well. We can answer some questions here, but your CSM can support you as well with FAQs and a lot of explanations.
But I I just wanna be really clear. Nothing will change in terms of, of the functionalities, just right now the branding itself and the name. In the future, more things will come. But right now, I really want you to have eyes on this. And, you know, not only the brand, but also additional improvements will come to come as credentials soon to be, parchment digital badges.
Manual experience is gonna be added this year, in September as requirements within a pathway. So this is, really about making sure that we are that students are showing not only, you know, the skills that they received inside of a of a credential of a badge, but what have they achieved into a workshop that they they work altogether inside of this manual experience as a requirement. And, also, we're gonna direct directly connect Canvas courses and assignments as part of the learner journey. So this creates a much stronger linking between what is happening in the classroom and how it's being recognized through batches. But another major, major update is the launch of a centralized skills directory that is happening inside of Canvas credentials.
And this brings, sorry, This brings really a a a powerful tool, that will have search, will have viewers. It will have detailed skill pages. It will have a better connection in between those different badges. So this gives from the institution perspective, but also from the student perspective, more clarity around which skills are being developed and which skills are being recognized on the institutional level, but also from a personal perspective for that student. And I think that at the end of the day, these improvements together with the strategy strategic change that we're doing to Parchment really makes the solution more structured, more scalable, and and connects to the real world and to what's most up to date in the educational market.
It enables institutions to design clear to be more consistent on the learning pathways and to make better informed decisions about competencies. And now, you know, while credentials is getting stronger, it's being rebranded and being connected to those real world learning processes. Catalog is also, evolving to deliver a very smart and and more connected experience. Admins, for example, they have, they will benefit from this behavior based nudge. They will be able to have new payment gateways integrations.
They will also be introduced to a deeper integration with Salesforce that will give institutions a stronger data analysis and and better tracking of enrollment and progress. And, you know, it's really all about making sure that we are giving you as an institution who uses Canvas catalog more inform and more ability to create impactful decisions to easy easily organize your catalog, courses in a more effective way and at the end, present a much more engaging marketplace of courses and programs. We want you to show your brand to the world and facilitate, students entering from all around the world as well into your courses and and programs. So keep an eye as well in the release notes, in the product blog post where Mate, the product manager for catalog, shares a lot of good stuff there in terms of what he's seen as the future of Canvas catalog. But, you know, we we need to keep going.
There's still some stuff that I I wanna talk with all of you today. Partnering through complexity and change, another big and important theme that we have here at Instructure. Two things that I wanna, call out, one that I'm very proud of, is that, you know, we have VPATs now inside of our website. And, by the way, all the slides here, they are gonna be shared so you can go through the link and and see. But we have been meeting the latest double c, double UCAG two point two AI centers across some of the products that I've mentioned to you, credentials and catalog, but also on Canvas, Studio, Commons, Mobile, and Impact.
So I think that the message and the goal is really simple. We wanna make sure that every learner, every teacher, every administrator can participate in the educational process without any barriers. If you wanna use the VPATs, they are available on the on our website. And, you know, this is, again, something that I'm really proud of that we are actually committing. And we committed to that, and we delivered this, on the time that we committed to to deliver.
Okay. Moving to a product that I also know that many of you use, Compass Studio. There are two things, two updates that I like to highlight. One, the one that you're seeing here in the slides, something that is already here, is already available. It's simple but very useful.
It's a new improvement that came for both admins and teachers that they can now easily archive and restore videos. And this really makes it much easier to keep media libraries clean and to keep media libraries, more organized. It helps avoid the buildup of outdated content, but at the same time, it really helps institutions to stay compliant with their storage policies. So this really gives the flexibility, and also very mindful of access accessibility and the policies of your institution to restart content whenever it's needed. So this is a functionality again.
It's already available by default to all student studio admins and teachers. You don't have to do anything on your side. Just start using and enjoy the ride there, while you're archiving or restoring videos instead of studio. And then what's next in Canvas Studio? It's something really important. We have been communicating this for emails in the last couple of weeks, but I want you all to have eyes on as well in a more larger conversation over here.
This is, you know, this is a very important update that is coming to Canvas Studio. It has been, we have done an exclusive partnership in between YouTube, together here with Instructure so that we start starting on September twenty two of twenty twenty five actually, no. Sorry. September first of twenty twenty five, we will begin using the YouTube player for education. There has been informations in press releases.
There's been information inside of our community. But it's important that, you know, that this will bring a video experience that is much safer, right, and and and more focused on the learning itself. Because the player for education from YouTube, what we'll make as a result of that is that YouTube videos in studio, they will play without any distractions, without any recommendations, and without links that will bring back to YouTube. But most importantly as well, as this is something really, really important for DMEA context, viewers, they will remain anonymous to YouTube. So this here itself is a a very strong and a key point for privacy.
But, you know, beyond that, there's other things that improve the experience for our users when they're bringing YouTube videos inside of Studio. Not only they will not have distractions, ads, recommendations, links that are gonna be back to YouTube, not only the viewers will remain anonymous to YouTube. But when we're thinking about the perspective of many regions that we have here in, in EMEA, talking about captions, the official captions, they will be available as well. So, you know, at the end, this will ensure not only security, but also accessibility for our users. So one thing that is important to know, and I I mentioned September first about the YouTube player for education inside of Canvas Studio.
On September twenty two, so in a couple of, weeks here, YouTube videos that are added directly into Canvas, so outside of, Studio, they may begin to show ads. So this is why it's so important for you to migrate your videos into Canvas, Studio so that educators and students always get the best experience. And, you know, just really support you. I have because if you're hearing this and you're probably thinking like, oh my god. I have so many YouTube videos inside of Canvas.
I have studio, but they are not migrated. What should I do? This is gonna be so much work right now that we are beginning the semester and beginning of the year, but we are actually helping you with that. So we created an automatic migration too at the course level so that it makes way, way easier for educators to move their videos. And this is something that is gonna be available, at the first day of September as well. So if any questions come up, reach directly to your CSM or take a look at our community as well because more informations on that are already available, in our community.
Then one of the, you know, one of the main topics when we think about the product themes is how are we thinking about AI, right, in in in the educator, educational perspective. To be quite honest with you, and I've mentioned this a couple of times today, we have made a full webinar last week dedicated to talk about what is Ignite AI, what are we thinking as the future, of AI instead of education. It was myself together with, Melissa Lobo, our chief academic officer. A lot of things were shared there, not only demos, on the solutions that we're building, but also our vision overall for, AI in education. So I would like to invite you all to go to the, website, our website with where the registration link was and see the recording of that video.
And if you are interested to learn more about the things that we are doing over here at Instructure when it comes to AI, subscribe to the, link that is shared over here in this slide so that you can get, tailored updates on Ignite AI and all the solutions that we are building, not only from our side, but together with partners such as the, assessment LLM that we are building. Okay. Finally, I'm very excited to to talk about this. You know, one of the reasons why I was mentioning that we are changing the name of our campus student app to just come as app for this, right, for the experience of the students, it's also because of Canvas career. This is something very, very amazing that we have been, working.
It's a a new solution in inside of the Instructure educational ecosystem that we are building actually with the support of customers in EMEA. And you might have seen this already. Right? Because we have announced that in at Instructure con. So there's a lot of things happening already in terms of, communications, social media, press releases, conversations that are happening. And I want you all also to have a quick view about what is Canvas career, but know that we are gonna talk way more extensively as well, during Canvas con in Oslo and in the next upcoming months.
Really, this is the brand new LMS that we are, doing here at adding structure, and it's built specifically for the needs of corporate workforce development programs for continuing and professional education in higher education for governments, public sector training, and also for upskilling and reskilling initiatives. So it will be generally available in the first month of twenty twenty six. And while it's grounded in in the infrastructure of Canvas LMS, Canvas career I want you to think as brother and sister products. Right? Canvas career is a stand alone product. It has its own interface.
It has its own feature set, its own deployment path. It's really all very mindfully think to optimize for skill based training, real world application, and measure, organization impact as well. So, again, Canvas career works differently from the the VLE experience that you have on Canvas, LMS, the Canvas academic side because it purposes field four workforce and adult education outside of the traditional academic model. It has native CRM and HRIS integrations like Salesforce, Workday, really to simplify the enrollment and reporting process of, you have to be, enrolling students. It is AI native with embedded tools for content creation and personalized recommendation.
It provides role based dashboards for both learners but also for leaders. Really gives this clear visibility into progress, engagement, and skill acquisition such as we're doing on the academic perspective, but this really focus on that added learning. And it supports flexible program based learning paths without requiring any formal curriculum. So in practice, Canvas career really means a a more intuitive experience for adjunct learners who often don't identify with academic terminologies or those workflows. It's focused really with the skill space that learners can track their skills that they have gained.
They can set career goals. They can receive personalized recommendation based on the learning history. It integrates with, other solutions that we have instead of structures such as credentials, and and catalog. And I wanna stop talking right now. I know that we are almost out of time.
Instead of me going and explaining explaining explaining, I wanna end my, my conversation with all of you today actually showing a quick video. It's not a demo. Sorry. It's honestly a a quick video about what we're building when it comes to Canvas career. Introducing Canvas career, a new LMS experience built on the back bone of Canvas, specifically designed for businesses, governments, and continuing education organizations alike.
Canvas Career helps organizations scale their learning programs without sacrificing personalization or control. To create a learning program, simply select and upload your source material, and Ignite AI automatically creates your learning content from courses to structured programs mapped to relevant workforce skills. So this is Canvas Career, something that we are building again to be, available to everyone globally on the beginning of twenty twenty six.
And I know that there's gonna be a lot of questions. Unfortunately, due to time, we won't be, able to answer, live, but we will make sure that we can answer all questions after as well and and share those answers with all of you who are, asking questions and sharing ideas inside of the chat. I just wanna really thank you all for the opportunity to be here today with all of you, and I know that I've spoken a lot in the last hour. There's a lot of content, but, again, we're gonna make sure to share all this content to all of you. Just wanna say thank you again, and thank you, Paul, as well for all the support on the background.
That's fine. Again, just apologies for some of the technical issues that we've had, today. I have taken note of of all the questions, and we can get in touch, and and make sure those questions are, answered as well as we go through. Thank you so much, everybody. See you next time. Bye bye.

Bye bye.
