From certificate to career: how Intelvio closes the skills gap

A certificate tells you someone finished a course, it doesn't tell you what they can actually do. Intelvio, a healthcare training academy, saw that gap and decided to close it. With Canvas Career by Instructure, they link training directly to the skills learners gain, so those skills show up on a resume, hold up in an interview, and carry into the job itself. Here's how they're making training count for more than a piece of paper.

Skills is a priority for us in terms of what is it that we are offering, but also for learners to not only say, okay. I I just got my training done. I got my certification. What skills did I even gained with this. Right? And at the end of the day, for us, it was like that's gonna move the needle between just delivering content to actually delivering a training that was gonna prepare them for the work force and get them a job. Right? Like, so for us, that was a priority. I think that was important when we saw that Canvas career was gonna let us do that, that, you know, we are now able to link our content, the learning that they're doing, learners are gonna be able to, like, see and understand and make those skills more transparent, more visible and information they can actually take with them. You know, they cannot take their training and although they're learning that information but how does that transfer them to I'm gonna, you know, how do I put this in a resume? How do I speak to these skills in an interview? And more importantly, how do I apply the skills in my job? And I think that was a big gap that we were missing and that we still see it, right? I think where skills is this sort of new world that we're starting to understand how do we make it where it's it's how we make this process easier for our learners that they're getting these skills and now being able to take them into the real world and and get their job.
