California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly) has selected Portfolium’s Student Success platform to provide 25,800+ Cal Poly students and faculty with the ability to assess and demonstrate the skills needed for career preparation. Cal Poly students will join 200,000+ students from 17 Cal State University System campuses in the social network where they have collectively displayed over 1.5M verified skills to their ePortfolios.
"Portfolium's integrated network will support our goal of advancing a holistic model of student success through guided pathways of signature curricular/co-curricular polytechnic experiences for our diverse students," said Larisa Preiser-Houy, Associate Dean at Cal Poly's College of Business Administration.
Portfolium’s assessment platform will allow faculty to modernize their assessment practices into a streamlined, digital process that is fully-integrative with Cal Poly Pomona’s learning management system, Blackboard Learn.
Cal Poly Pomona seeks to have the Student Success platform fully rolled out by Spring 2019, including Portfolium’s digital badging and pathways technology. Portfolium BadgeLink will provide students with the ability to earn micro-credentials for completed units and achievements, and automatically have them displayed within the students' unified learning profile. Digital badge issuance will be triggered directly by Portfolium's assessment software, ensuring that employers will have full transparency into the learning outcomes, rubrics, and evidence of student work required to earn each badge or micro-credential.
“Portfolium is thrilled to support Cal Poly Pomona with the technology needed to bring their assessment practices to a new level,” said Troy Markowitz, Vice President of Academic Partnerships at Portfolium, “As well as provide students with the tools needed to effectively communicate their learning and ensure their preparation for the workforce.”
