Each year, hundreds of educators, technologists and leaders from schools, higher education, further and vocational education, and training providers attend CanvasCon Europe to learn about the latest strategies and innovations in education technology and best practices in digital learning.
Having hosted the event in London for the last five years I am delighted to announce our 2019 CanvasCon Europe will take place in Barcelona on 7-8 October at the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I. Barcelona is a special place for edtech. Not only has the city been declared the capital of innovation by the European Commission, it is rapidly growing into a thriving tech hub, becoming the place for entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators to do business.
For Instructure, hosting this year’s CanvasCon in Barcelona is a mark of our continued support and investment in Europe. What began as an intimate meeting of just a handful of early adopter customers in 2013 has grown into one of the most eagerly awaited and anticipated annual education technology and digital learning conferences. More than 500 forward-thinking education professionals across Europe will come together to share best practice and ideas that ultimately help deliver top quality teaching and learning.
Our theme for this year’s event is ‘awesome to the power of Canvas’. We believe educators are awesome and want to help them scale great teaching and spread great learning. Attendees will hear the latest trends and developments in student success and engagement, professional development and continued education.
The full agenda is now available on our event website. You’ll hear from 30+ industry experts from institutions such as: Akademiet, Belfast Metropolitan College, Fontys ICT, Glasgow School of Arts, Lund University, Middlesbrough College, Preston College, Reykjavik University, Saïd Business School, University of Agder, University of Twente, Viktor Rydberg Gymnasium, and Vlerick Business School.
Topics will include: successfully managing institutional change, how to continuously educate the educators, achieving student success with individualised learning and meeting digital student needs through data analytics.
We have also built in plenty of learning, networking, and peer-to-peer exchange opportunities for schools, higher education, further and vocational education institutions, and training providers — for both Canvas users and non-users alike.
I am also thrilled to share for the first time we will host accredited sessions on Creating Technology-Rich Professional Learning in Canvas and Creating Highly Engaging Blended / Online Courses with Canvas. These CPD sessions will take place on 7 October prior to the main conference to allow attendees to gain best practices that they can put into action right away, and be awarded a micro-credential to demonstrate competence in a new skill.
More sessions and keynotes will be announced soon so stay connected by following us on @CanvasLMS and #CanvasCon, and why not take a look back at the topics and presentations from CanvasCon Europe 2018.
200+ people have already registered, so if you have not already reserved your place then please do so as spaces are limited. And, you can still take advantage of the early bird price if you register by 5 July.
I am really excited, and look forward to welcoming you and your teams to Barcelona in October!
