COVID-19 Resources & Updates Learn More

To Our Customers,

We hope you and your families are healthy and safe during this crazy time. Thank you for all that you are doing to keep learning happening for students around the world, especially while so many of you are tackling challenges that are unfamiliar to you. You continue to amaze us by how much you do and share with one another through the community and beyond. We see you. We hear you. We support you. As you may have noticed, between the coronavirus and multiple earthquakes in Salt Lake City, your Instructure team has had a wild week as well. I want to let you know that our operations have not been affected by the earthquake or COVID-19. Our team is thankfully safe, and Canvas LMS is online and working well.

Given where the world is with sustaining education from the home, I thought it would be great to highlight in this post a collection of powerful resources you can leverage while you continue to transition to learning online.

Community
We love our online community, and we hope you are a part of it! Whether you are just beginning your Canvas journey or have been with us for years, we invite you to join this group of more than 650K members. The community houses resources, forums, and answers to the questions you are likely dealing with right now. We have an ever-growing collection of tools, tips, and strategies for teachers, students, administrators, and parents (specific to coronavirus). If you are looking for answers, they probably already exist in the community, and if they don’t, one of the community members can definitely help. We are seeing a huge uptick in the interaction between those in the community to solve problems in light of COVID-19.

Below are some specific resources that I personally love and think will be helpful to you:
   – If you are new to Canvas, you might be interested in this step-by-step guide for setting up and starting to use Canvas Free for Teacher.

   – Want to build a Canvas course in 30 minutes? Here are some tips and tricks.

   – Are you a parent who is trying to keep your kids learning at home, while schools are closed? If so, this post is for you.

Coronavirus Resource Website
This site is focused on providing you with the resources you need to be successful in this new, home-oriented online learning environment. For example, this week members of the Canvas Community came together to provide insights into how to quickly set up your classes in Canvas. You can find the video recordings and future live stream sessions here. For all of you K-12 teachers reading this, there are Canvas and MasteryConnect resources for you specifically to use. If you are a higher education professor, we have targeted resources for you as well.

Partners
We are lucky to have a strong ecosystem of partners that extend the online learning experience beyond Canvas. This site showcases information about our partners and how they can help you during this pandemic. As an example, just this week, we announced a new integration with Microsoft Teams, an option to easily create online meetings directly from Canvas. You can find more information about that integration here.

Our commitment to education has only become more resolute as we have helped our customers during the past week. Our team of Instructure employees has rallied in support of students, educators, and administrators like never before. We are fully committed to you. Hopefully these resources will be helpful to you. As always, please reach out to me if you have any questions or needs.

Keep Learning and Stay Safe,
Melissa
