Say goodbye to the days of boring online courses and paper tests: with BookWidgets, you can now spice up your Canvas courses with rich, interactive exercises. Choose from over 40 exercise templates (such as quizzes, flashcards, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, memory games, ...), fill in your own content, and add them to your Canvas course, without ever leaving your familiar Canvas environment. Many of these exercises are even automatically graded in your Canvas gradebook, freeing up valuable time for what you do best: teaching.
Since you decide what your interactive widgets are about, there are practically no limits to how you can use widgets in your class. Every widget or exercise ever created is different. Use your imagination to create interactive learning visuals, games, and fun quizzes.
Let's have a look at a few examples of some widgets you can create.
Automatically Graded Quiz
The BookWidgets Quiz widget isn’t just another multiple choice quiz. No, this quiz has 26 question types you can choose from. This means you can build a fun quiz with a lot of interactive and visual questions in it, using a combination of text, images, audio and video. To give you an idea of what you can do, here’s an example of a quiz using the many different question types. Just click on the image to give it a go.
Flashcards help students practice retrieval and memorize knowledge such as translations, definitions, and many other things. With BookWidgets, you can create rich interactive flashcards with not only text, but also images, video and audio. Add your flashcards to your Canvas course, so students start practicing right away! Click on the image below to test your knowledge about the European countries and capitals.
Are you more into games for the classroom? A crossword puzzle is a fun way to test translations and definitions. However, you can do so much more with it! Take a look at this math crossword, for example, by clicking on the image.
... and much more
