Northwestern University and Roseville College may be more than 9,000 miles (or nearly 15,000 kilometers) apart, but on the last day of August, they’ll be connected by more than a 20-hour plane ride. That’s because Canvas will host CanvasCon user conferences on August 31, 2016, in both places at exactly the same time. (Well, exactly the same time if you don’t count the 15-hour time difference.)

Here’s a rundown of these almost-but-not-quite simultaneous events:

CanvasCon Northwestern 2016

Northwestern University

Evanston, Illinois

Wednesday, August 31, 2016

8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This one-day event will be packed with sessions led by higher ed and K-12 educators, innovators, and thought leaders from throughout the Midwest. Session highlights include best-in-class course design, LMS migration, strategies to improve faculty and teacher adoption, tools for assessments and analytics, ways to use and share open content and resources, and software integrations.

CanvasCon AU 2016

Roseville College

Sydney, Australia

Wednesday, August 31, 2016

8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Meet and interact with Canvas users and representatives to explore ways to make teaching and learning easier and more effective. Session highlights include LMS rollout and adoption in both higher ed and K-12, big data, and EduApps. Also, get highlights from InstructureCon 2016 and enjoy a keynote from Instructure VP of Product Strategy, Jared Stein.

So if you’ll be in the Midwest at 8 a.m. on August 31, join us at Northwestern. And if you’ll be on the South East Coast on that same day at the same time (only 15 hours earlier), we’ll see you at Roseville.
