Improving Employee Engagement, Retention & Performance in the UK

HR analysts and authors Mervyn Dinnen and Matt Alder collaborated with Bridge to survey both employees and senior HR and L&D professionals to find out what UK businesses are really thinking about, and experiencing, in learning and employee development.

Key findings include:

  • 98% of employees think that learning is essential when deciding to stay with their employer.

  • Two-thirds of companies don’t have a digital learning strategy, despite recognising the clear benefits.

  • 66% of HR pros think learning and development are key for improving business performance, but only 33% measure the impact.

  • More than half of employees don’t have an understanding of how they contribute to company goals.
