Translating a face-to-face course into an online one isn’t an easy task. In his blog post for The Chronicle of Higher Education, Robert Talbert shares his experience of taking his Calculus course online. Talbert had his students film themselves presenting their solutions to online homework questions. What were the results of this experience? His students were able to connect to the course content in a new way, and the videos became a readily available source for study or reference material. By creating new, shareable content to help each other learn, the students became part of a new learning community. Sound familiar?
